My favorite seasonal food item is bratwurst (German sausages) - what makes this an unusual choice is the fact that I'm a committed vegetarian who eats sausages up to three times a year (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day). The bratwurst have to be grilled in our backyard, slathered with pickle relish with mustard, and served with grilled corn and store-bought crappy coleslaw, with s'mores for dessert.
Go figure.
