    • My trip from Columbus, OH to San Francisco, CA
    • like ryan king's road trip from the m.dub to cali - this is the shortest route, but not the route that we took on my road trip for move to SF.

there was a giant snowstorm the night before we (my friend colin &i) left so we had to go south to memphis, through arkansas, OKC, amarillo...and then we broke down (transmission blow out) at the continental divide and had to stay in gallup, NM and figure out how the heck we were going to get to california in time for my job interview. we ended up leaving my car in gallup, renting an SUV (so that it would fit all my crap that was so very strategically packed in my car), getting on the road the next day (hooray!) and only adding one day on to the trip. it was definitely an adventure.

oh, and a week later i drove solo *back* to gallup to pick up my fixed car & drive all the way back. good times!

I'll point out, for the internet viewers, that not only did our trips both have to take the southern detour, it was on the same day. We didn't know each other at the time.
