The best teacher I ever had was Prof. Robert Solow, who taught macroenomics at MIT. He developed models for teaching that were complicated enough to be realistic (and satisfying), but simple enough that a bunch of first year grad students could understand them. He was also brilliant, which doesn't always go with being a good teacher.
