    • I'm not a very superstitious person, but the one that I succumb to is whenever I see a magpie; I resort to that silly song- One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told. I find that if I ever see one magpie, I have the crappiest day following it or end up in someway miserable. If I see two, something amazing happens to me! I can't ignore them now, so much so that I have the lock screen on my phone as two magpies just in case so I can have good luck all the time! The day before I went away to Hong Kong two years ago I saw one near my house. I couldn't deal with having an awful holiday so actually followed the magpie around (apparently they travel in pairs) for literally 10 minutes until I spotted its partner- ended up having a great holiday but wasted 10 minutes of my life.

I am similar however I was told by my granny that you must bow to one magpie to avoid the bad luck - so now I always do.
