    • At a family picnic, aged 10, a kamikazi wasp flew up the leg of my shorts, and set about stinging me through my tighty off-whiteys. My Mom lept up yanked down my shorts and then stomped on them. I looked up from the mangled remains of a brave (or crazy) wasp to see my whole extended family watching in stunned amazement.

      They may have forgotten but I still have the recurring nightmare.
