Cafe Du Nord is a beautiful venue underneath Market street. Well, not really but it is in the basement of the building. It's dark and has strangely low ceilings. And honestly, the food is decent. Who doesn't want to eat a plate of chicken fingers before The Long Winters take the stage?

However, I think my favorite part about the whole venue is the fact that the stage is pretty much at the same level as the audience so it feels like the band is performing in your living room. That is exactly what it felt like the last time I was there watching my husband's band, Farewell Typewriter play at Cafe Du Nord. Then again, maybe that is just because that is pretty much what I actually hear in my actual living room almost everyday.
