    • My trip from Reno, NV to Lincoln, NE - 21 hours all by myself
    • I made this trek in Feb. 1999. I moved from Reno to Lincoln so I can be closer to my sister. I drove in my 1991 Plymouth Acclaim with all my belongings stuffed in it. Even the front passgener seat! The first leg was from Reno to Laramie, WY, 14 hours all by myself. It seemed like it took forever. I tried to make it to Cheyenne which is an hour away from Laramie but I was physically exhausted. Stayed the night in Laramie and in the morning I checked my (car) fluids. Started driving to Lincoln and when I got to North Platte, I noticed my car's engine was over heating. Pulled over and it turned out that I did not close the radiator cap tight enough when I checked earlier in the morning. The coolant was all gone. Bone dry! I had a gallon water bottle that I was going to throw away in the morning, good thing I kept it. Then I pulled at the next exit and bought some coolant.
