- Get a puppy, get happy!
-
I think the world in general would benefit from more puppies. Or the adoption of already existing puppies. Hear me out.
The root of all problems in the world is unhappy, selfish people - this is my theory. If you are a happy, considerate individual I find it hard to believe you'll go around making choices that leave the rest of us struggling for air. Here is how dogs can help the miserable motherfuckers that ruin this (and any other) country:
1. Dogs need a walk first thing in the morning. Waking up, strolling through the park and getting fresh air is the best way to start any day. If your first step is invigorating, the rest of your day will be a whole lot better; trust me on this.
2. Dogs need exercise. That means you get exercise. To quote one of my favorite movies: "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands [or anyone else]; they just don't."
3. Dogs teach fiscal responsibility. You always have to keep in mind that you have a little Fido whose dog walking, designer dog collars, raw organic buffalo meat food, treats, recreation and vet bills you have to pay for. You can't just go buying houses you can't afford with that kind of responsibility riding on your shoulders.
4. It's hard to keep a straight face after you've been licked in the face (especially if the pooch has smelly breaf.)
5. You can't take yourself too seriously if you're picking up someone else's dookies on a regular basis.
6. When you learn how to unconditionally love and respect a dog life, you will be better at loving and respecting human life.
My Walter has taught me so much about the value of all species and their role in this world. It would be impossible to feel like an adequate dog mom and a good person if I didn't commit myself to making the world a better place for him and for everyone else.

James - that's what I'm arguing for. People to dedicate their lives to dogs.

I have cats and they are well worth devoting care to-they give so much in return.
