    • An embarrassing childhood memory...
    • When I was a little kid about six or so, my parents had matching Ford Falcons (yes, it was that long ago). Unfortunately, my mother's engine would regularly catch fire... so regularly that this was met with a certain amount of casualness among family members that I now realize was entirely inappropriate to the situation. Anywho, on the only one of these occasions when my father was unable to make the flames subside on his own, the fire department was called, which inevitably drew a crowd. A crowd? You're kidding right? I was of course sure everyone was there to see me, so I proceeded to do an assortment of gymnastics on the lawn for their viewing pleasure. No one clapped.
