This hospital lobby has a small bird atrium in the center. It houses several little birds from around the world. While watching the tiny creatures flying from branch to branch, I thought of my grandparents and how they would love to see this! I even heard myself ask in my head, "Do you see this, Grandpa?" I thought of different ways we could build one of these atriums for ourselves as I always think I can 'make' anything, but I'm never right. I thought of Grandma's bird nests above her porch at home and I wondered if she had any eggs in there yet this spring. Birds were never my favorite animal, but I've grown to appreciate them more since I lost my Grandpa and I've moved away from my Grandma. They both love birds and I miss them.
