    • The Notebook Reminds us of Lost Memories and Kept Emotions
    • Dealing with Alzheimer's Disease is a trying and difficult experience. My grandmother passed on to be with our Father on October 21, 2006 from Alzheimer's. It is hard for me to understand why or how a disease can rob your brain of the wonderful memories of the people you once knew and the life you once lived. The Notebook didn't help me understand this, but it is a story of unconditional love that even in death, can still survive. This is the kind of love that most people search for their entire lives and sometimes never achieve. The Notebook opened my eyes to the power of love. It is a powerful emotion that is found within all of us, if given the chance. Even through the lost memories and forgotten faces, love still resides, quietly inside the heart. The brain may steal things away as we grow older, but the heart fights against the brain to sustain the one emotion that cannot be forgotten.
