- I'll spend my golden years in the Royal City
-
At first I was tempted to list glamourous places like Paris, or NYC, but in reality, I know that when I want to retire one day I want to be close enough to family and be in a place that holds special memories. Right now that place for me would be Guelph, Ontario.
I spent four years there during university and fell in love with the place. I know upon retirement I would be found walking along the river and at the Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning. I would buy baked goods and fresh bread from Against the Grain. I would watch foreign films at the Bookshelf. I would play lawn bowling in the park by the wooden bridge. I would "adopt" a university student and make sure they had fresh food to eat during exam times. I would live in an old house and have my front yard be all garden- no lawn. I would volunteer at the public library.
