- I'd go to my home city, the place I know best - Cardiff, Wales, if money were no object and I was retiring.

It's where I grew up, it has lots of history, great museums, close to decent countryside, near the sea. More to the point I should be able to go back to speaking Welsh and not have to think all the time! Living language in a second language is tiring. It's a small city, lots of green space in it. It's got great cultural aspects, a world class opera company, theaters and arenas to take all sorts of acts and shows, a great collection of impressionist paintings housed at one of the museums. It's got pretty good transport connections, it's only a couple of hours to London by train. It has everything I could look for with time on my hands.
