As a lot of women do, I have a c-section scar, but that isn't the one that bothers me. This past summer, I had to have my gallbladder removed. While this was great for weight loss, I don't recommend it as a diet plan. At any rate, I have 4 scars each about 1/2 and inch to an inch in length on my right side. What bothers me the most about them isn't that they are there or even that they still itch. What bothers me about them is my husband's truck. That's right, a truck makes me self-conscious about my scars. Why? The truck had some dents and scratches. We spent $800 to fix cosmetic problems on the truck. I feared that if those scratches and dents on some inanimate object that won't be worth anything at all in another 10 years bothered him enough to bring it up every day for almost 3 months, then he probably felt the same way about my scars. He says he doesn't even notice them. Emotional scars, we will save for another day.
