The best prank I've personally been a part of happened in the office last year. My friend Casey and I switched the "i" and "o" keys, as well as the "m" and "n" key on our friend Simon's keyboard. Figuring that since all of these letters were in his name, he would figure it out.

Turns out - he didnt. He's one of those typers that needs to look at the keys when he types. We didn't stop and think about these letters possibly being in the password to log onto our security-enabled computers. And if you type your password wrong too many times, it locks you out for HOURS.

We came into the office about an hour after him and found him cursing at his computer and yelling in his British accent. Casey and I looked at each other and burst out laughing and informed him that we might know why he was now locked out of his computer for 2 hours and 7 minutes.

Needless to say, he was unimpressed and threatened to give our boss a bad review on his 360º feedback form because he was laughing at him too.

Talk about a prank working a little TOO well.
