• The real version of my first kiss.
    • UNBELIEVABLE!

So I tell my husband, he better answer this prompt today so we can compare details of the story of our first kiss. Grant writes his first and if you would like to read THE WRONG VERSION OF THE STORY, by all means. If you would like to read the CORRECT version of the story, read on:

Grant and I had been going out for about 4 or 5 months. We had mastered such things as holding hands, talking on the phone and hiding what was really going on with our relationship from our parents ("No, mom we are just friends! God!") but there was still one thing we hadn't done yet and that was kiss.

It was also around this time that it had reached that horribly awkward point. We both knew we were avoiding it and neither one of us wanted to make the move. I remember all the great opportunities we had too. We would find ourselves able to steal a moment alone at a friends house, or tucked away in some nook on campus but we just let those moments pass on by with nothing.

(Ok, so here is the point in the story where Grant started rewriting history)

I thought that Grant would be the first one to make the move. He is the boy for goodness sake. A boy should give a girl her first kiss. Well, my hesitation and nervousness turned to frustation as I finally thought to myself that I was going to have to take matters into my own hands.

We were saying goodbye to one another after school one day and just as I was about to turn to go home, I planted one on him. It was quick and got the job done but as soon as it was over, I did an about face and practically ran away from him.

Looking back I laugh at how scared I was. Like he was going to bite my face or something. But you know, part of me thinks that the way it should be. It should give you butterflies and make you nervous. When that happens, you know it was the right decision. Just like marrying him 10 years later was.

That's sweet. And see, he was so impressed by your maneuver that he stole it as his own. The ultimate compliment from a male!
