    • [Day 25/365] - Suit Hunting Complete

      Suit and tie... not a hard question.

      My family's known for going from job-to-job because something that interests them comes up and they take it. One time my dad wanted to test out the chicken plant (this was before starting his business). He walked in to the interview with a suit and tie... the interviewer was so perplexed as to why my dad was dressed up that he was pressed to ask the question,
      "Why did you dress up for this, do you know what we do here?"
      To which my dad's response was,
      "Regardless of the type of work, if I want the job, I'm gonna show you I want it."
      Immediately, he was called back, given the job, admired by the boss, and given all the easy jobs good pay.

      The main point I want to get across is that it's not sucking up to the boss, it's conveying that you want to take initiative and you know where you're going with this job. Begin with the end in mind. If you were to agree with everything the boss said, that would be a suck-up. Be yourself, even if it means going against the flow.

      "Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you;
      rebuke a wise man and he will love you."

      Your opinion matters, just like clothes you wear matter.
