I went to a really conservative high school. When I left to go to college, I was really caught off guard when no one was on my case anymore. No one bugged me about what I was wearing, no one cared whether I believed in god, no one bitched me out for being 3 minutes late. It was a huge shock to me to have no one scrutinizing my every action. And that's when I realized I was an adult.
