• New York, New York
    • What can I say? Amazing. New York was just full of a contrast of street culture and sophistication. So much to see. Such a high-strung place. Stayed at the New York Palace Hotel and just remember thinking "wow" when I got there. It felt as though the whole world was below me. I remember getting in the lift and feeling majorly light-headed because I went so high up! I looked out onto building upon building. New York at a glance is just a pile of buildings. But just like everything in life, you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Vegas on the other hand. completely judged by its cover. I describe it as a game board. It really is a game board. Stayed at the Bellagio and was lucky enough to be in V.I.P area. As you come in, you get chocolate covered strawberries and free drinks! How crazy is that?! Absoloutely amazing place. Was also lucky enough to go on a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. Absoloutely surreal place. To think that a 20 minute ride on a helicopter takes you to such a silent and peaceful place, in comparison to the loud (in appearance and sound) environment of the "strip".

I loved it. Although I was alerted to the fact that New York and Las Vegas were not the real parts of America. I am intrigued to see other parts that are more down to earth and realistic.

Vegas is just crazy. A sea of flashing lights and it probably costs more than the whole world to uphold. Mental!

I loved Vegas. It was surreal! We managed to get onto the VIP list for Light at the Bellagio and it was amazing. I think Light and Moon (the Palms) had two of the best non-Goth club DJ's I have ever heard.

As a native NYer and a Vegas visitor, there is no comparison. Next time, stay on Central Park South. And make sure you do 5th Avenue like you can afford to (nevermind that nobody can). Try on that $250,000 amethyst and diamond necklace at Tiffany's. It's not like you'd wear it more than once anyway and they have no clue. Makes for a great story to tell someone else's grandkids ;)
