We discover that Facebook and Twitter is run by an undercover world government waiting for the right time. Now that the element of surprise has been eliminated, It decides to use brute force to gain control, employing the use of internet memes as a psychological weapon against the masses. Kittens morph into LolCats overnight under the spreading virus. Trolls become the Gestapo of the Internet. The apocalypse comes. Everyone dies.
Then, AeroKitty, the only cat to have an immunity to the Lolcat virus and to have escaped unscathed, finds a single working computer amongst the rubble and opens up Twitter.
"The world is dead," she writes, "and I'm here by myself. It's really annoying having all these dead bodies around me. If anyone's out there, find me at th-"
Her 140 characters are up. The computer powers down as that Tweet rushes across cyberspace, leaving some poor guy in a university twitching with frustration and agony that the last woman on earth is IN AN UNMARKED LOCATION.
