I wouldnt want to be finite in my decision to stay on the island, since things can change, especially with the companion. With my luck, not even a month into the "year of so-called paradise" something would go wrong, a hurricane may strike and all of the food is tainted, my companion contracts some horrible tropical disease and dies, or worse, becomes a cannibal.
