    • Wasn't ME!
    • There is really no need for me to explain anything. Because, you see, nothing is ever my fault.

Honestly. Just try to blame me.

A few weeks ago my husband and I took a trip to check on family property. It had been vacant all winter long so you can imagine the work that was ahead of us.

We spent the night trying to get warm and accomplished random chores. In the morning, when I went to pack the car, I noticed the car keys were missing.

      Clearly someone had stolen them.

However, my husband wasn’t too convinced. So we searched the house for FOUR hours looking for those keys.

At that point I decided to wash off the winter grime in a freezing shower and when I huddled into my bath robe, guess what I found in the pocket? The stolen car keys!

I hadn’t worn the robe since last Fall, so obviously *I* didn’t put them there.

Of course, my husband wouldn’t let it go, so I kind of remembered putting on my robe to be a nice wife and go upstairs to get HIM a water.

Oh, right! When I was upstairs getting the water, I spotted the keys on the couch cushion crevice, and pocketed them to keep safe.

However, had I not gone up to get him water, this oversight never would have occurred! AND we could have been on the road four hours earlier.

So technically, it was HIS fault. Not mine. Therefore, I have no need for an excuse.

I can see how your husband might have blamed you. But once the whole story is told? Yep, definitely his fault.

Great strategy - never be the "fall guy"! I agree with StratPlayer, honest isn't always the best policy. Believe me, I should know. LOL
