- The South is gonna rise again!

I went to the Dixie Stampede sometime in elementary or middle school while visiting my grandparents in South Carolina. The Dixie Stampede was a themed dinner-and-a-show experience (much like Medieval Times) where the theme was the Civil War. I remember being frustrated that we had been seated in the South's cheering section, when obviously (according to everything I'd learned in my yankee history classes up north) the South were The Bad Guys. They were like the Nazis or the Dark Side of the Force, and in the end, The Good Guys would triumph over them to reunite the Union. So why did I have to cheer for their stupid side and eat their stupid cornbread?
Then my northern sensibilities were even more appalled when, in this reenactment, the South won.

They could have even had three sections there: the North, the South, and South Carolina--since the leaders of this state initially wanted to leave the Confederacy and form their own country.
