• Mmm, Ramen
    • Tokyo ramen

Aldi sell packets of noodles - I insist on calling them ramen, otaku that I am - at 19p a pop. They come in four flavours: chow mein, curry, chicken and spicy Thai. The chow mein is my favourite, but they're all delicious - and surprisingly filling to boot. I like to top the curry ramen with cheese (yeah, freak), and I tend to put the chicken ramen in miso soup for that almost-authentic Japanese flavour. Try as I might though, I'll never be able to get my ramen to look like the picture. Ah well.

Five packets of these noodles will feed you for a week, at a cost of less than one big beautiful British pound. Sure makes sense when you're a broke-ass graduate like me. Or if you're a surprisingly rich student who refuses to part with his cash, like my brother Ebenezer Marv. He got me started on these little packets of joy, you know.
