If you live south of the Mason-Dixon, you have already seen this movie.
I picked this movie first, because it was the first one that came to mind when I read the prompt. Then I switched to LOST, then again to FRIENDS, and then back to Steel Magnolias.
I switched, for one, because I have a weird thing about certain rules and it does say "movie" and the other two are television shows. But mostly because Steel Magnolias is the better answer. While I would like to be in the other shows, I think the people I would want to be friends with are the characters in Steel Magnolias.
If I could pick a new place to live I would want it to be something like Chiquapin Parish. I think it's mostly because I'm drawn to people who have a natural warmth about them. Not something that's purely social or only when it's necessary for different things. But people that are just warm without even trying. Not to mention that the Southern element in the movie reminds me a lot of my family. As much as I love New York, I think I'm always going to be a little bit of a Southern gal.
"Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion."
"I have a strict policy that nobody cries alone in my presence."
"Drum, eat shit and die."
