    • Handwriting or keyboard?

I prefer writing on keyboard. I prefer the feeling of my fingers flying gracefully ro ont over the keys almost as fast as my conscious mind can muster thoughts. My handwriting is so abominable that if I tried to write that fast I would never be able to read it again. For that matter, even my slow writing borders on the illegible.

The computer's ability to make quick and neat corrections is convenient and helpful, but doesn't hold much influence on my preference. I rather enjoy the sloppy crossing out and marginalia and carets that come with handwriting.

That being said, I still write with paper and pen weekly. The feel of a cool, steel pen (zebra pens are best) and the unique curves of my messy handwriting. I have several journals, and sometimes I want the isolation they give me: to be apart from my computer. My computer has distractions built into it. If there is a wifi connection, then those distractions become infinite. (Not least among these is plinky.)

Also a fan of the cool, steel pen, but do you ever wonder if your words, those curves, wouldn't prefer sometimes to be birthed by something warmer, friendlier? Like, say, a felt tip?
