    • The American Office is NOT a cheap immitation of the British Office, as I once thought.
    • The American version of "The Office" is one of those for me. I really hated that show simply because I loved the original British version so much. I felt it was a cheap imitation of the original, dumbed down to be funny to most Americans. I later tried watching it with an open mind. It kind of grew on me, and I finally accepted it when I was able to tell myself that it is NOT the same show as the original. The focus is different, the story and characters are different. The only real similarity is that they are both sitcoms about an office. Although, I still hate Steve Carell's acting, which was one of the biggest reasons I used to hate the American version.
