It's local, next to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, and they like me there!

There's a block-long alley-mall called Pelton Center in oldtown San Leandro about 6 blocks south and west of where I live. Right on East 14th Street next to it is a great Vietnamese restaurant called Le Soleil. One of my favorite things is to get takeout from Le Soleil on the way home from work; on the way back to my car I'll stop at the Baskin Robbins on the entrance to Pelton Alley to get a triple-scoop: mint chocolate chip, vanilla cookie-dough, and Oreo cookies-and-cream. Yum!

Baskin Robbins has OK ice cream, but the kids who work there are really cool; they always remember me and ask me how my day was... one thing I like about San Leandro is that the kids around here with jobs actually are trained to respect their customers. What a revolutionary thought.
