Cheerleading is such an awesome sport. You are always smiling, always happy and always cheering on other athletes. That in turn makes the audience cheer which makes the other athletes play better, harder and smarter. It's one of those sports where there is a win win situation because it's such a positive atmosphere.

Many people think that cheerleading is not a sport but the definition of a sport is "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature." Doesn't cheerleading require skill? YES! Not everyone can be acrobatic, or let alone stomp and clap in an organized manner. And physical... cheerleaders have to condition just like any other sport. The latter part of the definition says "in a competitive nature..." Have you ever seen a cheerleading competition? It's intense people! There are bodies flying, pig tails bouncing and months of hard work on display, all for the trophy and recognition.

Well I'm done schooling for the day, next time pay more attention to the hard working cheerleaders because they deserve it. I know, I used to be one.
