    • If I could time travel, I'd go to 1776
    • I totally want to rock a powdered wig and get caught up in the American Revolution. I want to walk among men like George Washington, John Adams,Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry, John Hancock, and Benjamin Franklin. I would watch the heated debates (pun!) of the Continental Congress about the Declaration of Independence, and see the birth of a nation which has greatly inspired and repulsed others.

I want to hear it straight from the founding fathers what dreams they have for the generations to follow. What do they think America will be like in 2009? I would tell them that equality is something we still strive for. As a woman and a minority, I would look them in the eyes and ask why it would take over a hundred years for a person of color to get the right to vote. I would also ask why it took longer for women to get the right to vote. Intelligence is not determined by skin color or gender. I would dare them to tell me otherwise. And then I would prove why they were wrong.

If I could, I would also walk among the tribes, to name a few, of the Iroquois and the Mohawks. Their way of life was already tainted after coming into contact with the Europeans almost 200 years prior, and I would see them before President Jackson all but wiped them out. I want to see the beauty of the "red savages" before someone decided to hide them away on reservations.
