    • You learn something new every day
    • Oh goodness, I have no idea. I've learned lots of things recently, but how does one determine the level of importance of the knowledge they have? For that matter, how does one determine a scale?

Let's see, some things I learned (just today):

      - Bcc stands for Blind Carbon/Courtesy Copy and allows you to send an e-mail to multiple people without sharing all of those addresses with everyone (I already knew what cc was).

      - Google plans to come out with a new communication platform known as Google Wave. I am very excited.

      - Gay guys can run for prom queen and win. This is considered by many to be a good thing since it is supposedly blurring gender roles. I, however, don't understand why this is being celebrated.

      - Lots of people don't like to think for themselves.

      - An inductive argument that has true premises that logically lead to the conclusion probably being true is known as a Cogent Argument.

      - The main disagreements between the Eastern Orthodox Church and Roman Catholics revolved around (1) the Holy Spirit, (2) papal authority, (3) the Eucharist, and (4) the crusades.

Rather pathetic list. Not necessarily in its content or scope, but simply in its length. However, in my defense, it's 12.30 in the morning, I'm tired, and my brain is begging to be released from this burden of functioning. Under these circumstances, I simply cannot be expected to come up with every thing that I've learned today.

So as not to ignore the prompt itself, I suppose that of all these tidbits listed people not wanting to think for themselves is the most important thing I learned today. I suppose I always knew, but the concept only really solidified for me earlier this morning (yesterday morning technically). Why is this important?--I'm not really sure, I'm probably just picking that one because it appears to be the most profound, the most thought provoking. Though that is a bit paradoxical, no? The concept of people not wanting to think for themselves provokes thought? What? OK. Now I'm just being silly. I think I should go to bed. Good night.

Side Note: I feel kind of cool being the first person to answer this prompt. =)
