    • The new name is a year old, but almost any name will do
    • Ha! I already did!

Last year for my 30th birthday I figured that having clients call me by my nickname was starting to look a bit weird. There's only so long you can be named after a question. But when I told people my real name they consistently cocked their heads and said 'you don't really look like you'd be named that'. So I decided to change it. After all, I never used my real name anyway, so no one at work would miss it. And that's how on a hot and muggy nyc night my friend and I sat at a bar and made our way thru a baby name book that she had picked up for a dollar at Strand.

Of course the name we chose had to be one at the very end of the alphabet which absolutely guaranteed we were quite drunk, but the name has survived. While I'm still getting used to being called this new name, I find it fascinating that I have very little attachment to any name, and will answer to almost anything if you look at me while you say it.
