    • This would have to be a combo deal: used bookstore and neat junk shop. That sort of comfortable eclecticism, that sort of random joy, appeals to me. We could sell art supplies too, odd furniture and clothing.

I'd like it to look and feel as far away from big box, corporate antisepticism as it possibly could. That's the sort of atmosphere that kills the joy of shopping and socialising, and makes people constipated.

Maybe there could be a room in the back or above, with fluffy couches and a big TV where we could watch movies once in a while. We could hang works by local artists on the walls; have readings and such; art nights where people get together in groups and make stuff - fun stuff. It would have to be next to a decent café that sold tea in huge mugs and was equally as comfortable; or, perhaps we could have a café attached.

This sounds very cool. Any room for a vacuum cleaner and toothpick shop next door?
