    • Respect
Because it is years since I saw anyone "young" with respect for other people, the police, animals, other people's property, you name it and most kids you see on the street will steal it, stab it, vandalise it or mug it - then set it on fire.

They should also be taught to respect alcohol, to stop them looking and acting like proper tw*ts each weekend when they pass 18. There are plenty of them around too.

The alcohol respect issue is an important one. Do you think the whole taboo and law about being 21 and up may have something to do with it? At least in the States, Americans make such a big deal out of it that, in a way, the kids have no choice but go out of control. No one taught them how to respect alcohol let alone drink responsibly. It was one of the things I learned as a child and teen, and I think I can attribute that to the fact that I can now drink in moderation.
As for respect overall, amen. Preach it. We certainly need to instill the concept of respect for others, as well as themselves, in our kids.
    Best.
