    • I wish I were old enough to remember when "2001: A Space Odyssey" was released.
    • I wonder how it would've affected me...

When I was 12 years old we had just settled into our house on Andrews Air Force Base. In what was a big deal back in 1983, the well-known DC PBS affiliate (WETA-TV) did a full stereo simulcast of the movie on WETA-FM. Due to my budding interest in all things space-related, my mother talked me into watching the film. It changed my life. Literally. I don't say this arrogantly, but my mother knew she was on to something important when she realized that I understood the film. The first time I saw it. At the age of 12.
