What is the definition of a long book?
I prefer the original cover from 1982 when the book was first released. The artist made a point of including the star-child image that so completely defined the 2001 universe in Sir Arthur's mind (RIP Sir Arthur, BTW), and the color palette was based on predominately darker hues of blue. But I digress.
This prompt does beg the question: what is "long" when it comes to books? As I recall, 2010 is "only" about 300 pages long but -- as another Plinkster commented re: Gone With The Wind -- I remember that I deliberately read slowly, and re-read chapters, as I got toward the end of the book b/c it was a universe that I simply didn't want to leave. Is "long" simply a quantitative measure re: how many actual pages sit between the covers? Or is it a subjective assessment of the depth of the vision that is detailed by the author over the course of the book's pages?
Anyway, that's my response for today. Oh, and The Holy Bible is a long book that is worth reading. The New Testament, at least. :)

Jonathan -->In all seriousness, what frosts my knickers about Dr Laura is that she, by her own admission, was raised in an emotionally cold and unloving environment. I would think that anyone raised like that would *encourage* people to love each other, regardless of the body sizes or configuration, yaknow? It's actually quite sad. She typifies what I have come to call "Levitical Christianity" ... I really wonder if she actually has ever *read* the Book Of Galatians, which clearly states that the Levitical Law no longer applies!
Anyway, bottom line: she's a twat. DOWN WITH PROP 8 NOW!
