    A fascinating selection! You're right of course...but equally I was brought to tears repeatedly throughout "Laughter and Forgetting" (and my recollection of "Laughable Loves" is too poor to speculate). Kundera certainly runs the emotional gamut, even within a single novel -- to his credit.
