• Discovered oral cancer and referred patient for treatment.

    • I recognized that a patient had throat cancer when I did an oral cancer screening at his dental checkup. He did not know anything was wrong. No symptoms. He then went through, surgery, chemo, and radiation and did well. Out of all my patients as a registered dental hygienist he is the only one I have found with oral cancer but finding it just once was worth screening everyone.
