Money itself is not the root of all evil. It's the love of money that is the root of all evil. You can disagree with that if you wish; my only defense of my opinion on this issue is the Holy Bible and the words of Jesus Himself...

No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and money.
