    • It's very simple: I am being laid off effective 9/18/2009; I live 10 minutes from the Oakland Airport; and Oakland is a major focus-city for Southwest Airlines. I'd like to spend a few months after the layoff just traveling to my favorite places around the country and catching up with family & friends... it just so happens that every one of my destinations is served by Southwest. So, that's it. It's not asking too much, is it?

Oh, and while I'm traveling, please find me a J-O-B... b/c I sure as shit don't seem to be able to find one.

Dress the cat up like a baby, so you can travel with it sitting on your lap. Cats need to roam too! Cheers!

Ironically, Southwest Airlines has just in the last few weeks started accepting pets on their flights... they do not allow pets to be checked into the cargo area, which is fine b/c I would never do that anyway. However, I have *2* cats... and they are Russian Blues, which if you know anything about cats... Russian Blues are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. My boys are 20 pounds. EACH. There is no way I could find a carrier big enough for them that would fit under my seat and that's the requirement. Plus, my cat Shadow has an interesting stress response: he farts. If you've ever smelled a cat-fart, let me tell you... it can kill a small child. So, yeah, in summary: my boys can stay at home. :)
