    • I want my FIRST tattoo! Exciting stuff eh? I'm gonna get quotation marks on each wrist respectively, so like, I can quote stuff... with my wrists! Aha, no. That's not the reason why I'm getting it.

I knew that if I got a tattoo, it would have to be word - related.

I love words, I love the power they hold over people, I love how words can make you feel. I love the english language, I love the diversity of it, and all differing dialects, idiolects and accents. I'm a believer in that words and ideas can change the world.

I am the biggest grammar nazi you will ever meet. I've had a blog since the age of 12, and I have been told I have a way with words; a way of getting things across within my writing.

Words are special to me, language is special, and I can't imagine ever doing anything other than writing for a living.

So I thought long and hard. Should I get a quote on my wrist? Yeah, that would be nice, something that represents me, that's personal to me, that I'm not gonna get sick of 5 years down the line blah blah blah. So, what does represent me?

The only thing that stuck out to me as tattoo-worthy was "Speak Slow" because a) it's a song by my favourite band, and its one of my favourite songs, b) it's the name/url of my blog, so it's really like printing my diary on my wrist, with all my thoughts and experiences and ideologies represented within that, c) Well, uh... I like the alliteration.

But I don't know. I can't personally relate to the song, (I just like the tune!) so I wasn't sure about branding myself with the title. Plus, I don't wanna look OBSESSED with Tegan and Sara! I don't think I could be bothered explaining the meaning to everyone, and in any case, my blog is DEATHLY SECRET from anyone IRL so I couldn't really explain the proper meaning to anyone.

Maybe I will get Speak Slow tattooed on me, but not now.

My first tattoo is going to be my quotation marks, minus any quote, minus any words, minus any interpretation.

Because in life, some words don't do experiences justice.

Some things are better left unsaid.

This is probably the best thing I've read on Plinky so far! Not only did you incorperate tattoos, grammer and awesomness all in one, you also contradicted yourself, after preaching about your love of words.. "Because in life, some words don't do experiences justice." Which is great, dont get me wrong, your absolutely right! HAHA The tattoo idea is fabulous! Great for your first tattoo! It shall be great, I guarantee.
P.s. "c) Well, uh... I like the alliteration. " rofl!
