The Grand Canyon and a CFM56

The CFM56 is the base-engine on all Boeing 737s (except for the original 100 series which had Pratt & Whitney). The street I live on is perfectly straight for a good 3/4 of a mile. I figure, with the fully loaded weight of my Honda Civic EX, I could get airborne easily enough. Of course, I still haven't solved the challenge of where to put the required fuel.

Still, it would really help me... summer rush-hour in the SF area, particularly with the economic downturn, has been a lot nicer than "normal" but I really have no patience for anyone driving slower than 80 miles per hour.

      This cat needs the speeds!

Sounds like you have no patience for anyone driving slower than *800* miles per hour!

Well... maybe... see, that's why I never buy high-power cars... when I'm going down the freeway at 15... 20... 25 miles above the speed "limit" and I see a Mustang or Corvette, I do everything I can to make sure the other driver understands that I am NOT challenging them. I don't give a rat's ass if I'm in the front of the line. I just don't like driving slow for no reason. I am the first person to slow down when there's a good reason... wet road, fog, cop-on-freeway, accident: those are reasons. Someone is hanging out apparently sight-seeing, holding up the passing lane and not moving their dumb ass over to the right... that is NOT a reason! :)
