• 'The Exorcist' freaked the poo out of tweenage me
    • I am an anxious, twitchy dude. Six foot one, two hundred thirty pounds, but I shirk and spasm like a caffeinated squirrel - it is just my nature. I was even a worse spaz when I was eleven, so watching "The Exorcist" with my mom when it was shown on ABC Night-Time Movie Fun was a big mistake. Afterward, I was certain Regan was under my bed, ready to give my whole bedroom a big ol' shake and throw me out the window.

What made it scary? Head twisting! To this day I absolutely forbid friends and family from twisting their heads 180 degrees and giving me the golum smirk of madness.

Later on, the movie "Seven" convinced me that, with my delicate nerves, I really can't handle any movie more stimulating than "Finding Nemo".

You and your mom watching "The Exorcist" reminds me of my mom and I watching "Psycho" together when I was young . . . took me until my late 20's to not check past the shower curtain every time I took a shower.
