- I wish I wrote the script for this one.

The first time I saw this movie, it was on an ancient VCR in school on a 17 inch TV. The image was grainy and tiny. And I fell in love.
Is Kate queen in this role? Oh, yes, yes and more yes. She delivers some of the best lines in the history of cinema with that enigmatic smile on and that twinkle in her eye. She's downright jolly when she's cutting people to pieces.
Young Anthony Hopkins is also a delight, but of course Peter O'Toole is just a bear of presence.
The 2003 remake, with Patrick Stewart as Henry, Glenn Close as Eleanor and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as Louis was quite good, considering it could never be remotely equal.
