    • waking up next to my beloved
There's no better start to a day than waking up to find a Seriously Hot Guy next to you in bed. How lucky can one gal get? The immediate aftermath of this usually entails good morning snuggles and smooches, which tend to set me up for the day better than a full English and a steaming mug o' joe. Ah me, young love.

      good scran
Those not familiar with northern English slang - as I once was, filthy southerner that I used to be - won't know this neat little term for a darn good feed. Now, aforementioned full English is a rare occurrence in my daily routine. I'm not a big breakfast eater. Before you say it, I've already had several lectures on the importance of breakfast and blablabla, but I prefer the later meals, you know? That's the good scranning right there, the curry and the ramen and whatnot. Day's not complete without it.

      creative time
This can come in many forms: a jam with buddies, a quick scribble on the sketchpad, or a nice long Plinky catch-up session at 3am. It's important to keep the juices flowing, and to make the most of your mojo when you've got it - as anyone who's ever suffered from creative block will know. Getting a good blog post written or finishing a long-overdue song can make a day for me.

      BLICK! TEN G!
That's our family's term for getting an Xbox 360 achievement. Gaming time is essential to the makings of a good day, whether it be a little co-op action on Gears of War 2, getting some Warcraft dailies done or kicking crap out of each other on Soul Calibur. Mmm, pointy.

      a rainbow
Now, on a bad day, none of the above might happen. I might be trudging through town in the rain, all hungry and smoochless, with no new ideas and no blicks. But if it's one of those lucky days and a rainbow appears, it's sure to turn my frown upside down. For me, a rainbow instantly makes the day a good one. They're like good luck charms, the instant happymaker. A rainbow day is never a bad day.
