What, you missed this one? How could you have let that happen? It stars Billy Bob Thornton doing his best to be Kevin Costner, so you get two of the 20th century's greatest actors at once! The movie is all about one man's star field of dreams -- if you tinker for years in your barn to build your own rocket, you can blast off into space, even if the government is trying to keep you down and even if you don't have seven or eight hundred million dollars of your own. "Look, honey, we'll scrape by. This has been my dream, all my life, and I know I can do it. I just know it. The kids can eat the leftover wheat seed, and next year, after I've made it up to space, I'll get the farm up and running again, I promise." This film is awesomely, epically bad, and it is so, so earnest.
