My dad called and told me "MawMaw's gone, you're too late." He then says to pick up my older brother on the way to the funeral, and my brother for some reason is in a state that starts with a M, Minnesota or Missouri, that detail isn't clear for some reason especially since we're from Louisiana. Then as I'm packing to go back home for the funeral my grandmother (MawMaw) pulls up in her huge granny car and says "Aren't you ready yet?!" Seeing as how she criticized me most of my life, that wasn't all that unusual. However the fact that a dead woman just drove up is a bit unnerving! Surprisingly this is not my main concern at that point, all I can think about is how in the world I'm going to survive a cross-country trip in a car with MawMaw and my brother who get along about as well as fire and water. Luckily I woke up at this point and didn't have to find out if anyone killed anyone else on the drive.

I think this means a couple things... One is that I know my grandparents are getting old and not doing well and I feel guilty for being so far away from my family for so long. The other is I'm obviously terrified she's going to haunt me after she dies!
