Different people call me different things. I just depends on what group I'm with that day. If I'm in long beach, all I will hear is "sherelle". The immac girls call me "Chel", with the exception of Katrina who would either call me Cheryl or Charlie. Spotspro people would call me "C" or "Chizzle". Allan of the Benavides clan called me "churro" for the longest and still does. The "oldies" call me "Cherylia".
"Sherelle" - People in long beach have the reputation of being .. 'ghetto'-kids. Not everyone is, but all my friends in long beach are Cambodian and most of them are 'ghetto'-kids. lol. &I love them for that. They somehow decided to 'ghetto'-fy my name. The funny thing is they usually say "Hi, 'Sherelle' spelled Cheryl but pronounced 'Sherelle'". (pronunciation: "share" - "elle"). I think its to the point where they forgot that my name is actually Cheryl. haha.
"Chel" - I have no idea where this came from. I think Nikki/Cadi just started this at immac and it stuck on ever since. I guess Cheryl - ry = Chel. haha. There you go. Chel is short for Cheryl.
"Charlie" - Katrina and I gave each other boy names back in summer school 2004 (or was it 2005). Hers was Sergio and mine was Charlie. On occasion we call each other that, and if not, we call each other by our actual names.
"C" - The SpotsPro heads called me "C", well obviously because my name starts with a C. But really, they called me "C" because my ex-boyfriend was called "Bee"/"B" (same thing). So when they would see us together they would greet us with "Aye! Bee! ... C!" .. Get it? ABC? haha.
"Chizzle" - Ram and Mike Man of SpotsPro started that. Why? Cause they have a friend named Cheryl and they call her "Chizzle" also. So I'm guess all Cheryls to them are "Chizzles".
"Churro" - The only reason why Allan calls me Churro is because of a story I told him. Back when we use to run around outside and play hide-n-seek, we had neighbors - Elizabeth, Celly, & (oh shoot, I forgot). Their mom spoke thick Spanish and she wasn't very good at speaking English also. Every time she would say "hi" it would sound like "Hi Churro". Elizabeth would always 'try' to correct her mom, but it grew on me.
"Cherylia" - Simple. Grandma's name is Cerila. My name is Cheryl. Cerila + Cheryl = Cherylia?. The oldies (old aunties, usually age 60+) of the family call me that on occasion.
