    • Memories all alone in the moonlight...i forgot the rest of the song...
    • This was a really good question. I could go on and on about different songs that remind me of times in my life. What I love about music is that (at least for me) not only do I remember the memory (i.e. what happened) but I remember exactly how i felt. Songs have the power to evoke those same emotions that occured so long ago.

Everything is Alright by Motion City Soundtrack

I was in Junior High and was really into the poppy emo rock that all the kids were listening to back then. MCS was my favorite band and their new album came out the day before my family went on a camping trip. I remember listening to the album in our mini van. my parents let me and my siblings listen to it on our portable stereo. There we were, rocking out in our old junky car, traveling through the wilderness. Really good memory. :)

I saw the sign by Ace of Base

This was the first song I remember. And I remember it distinctively because its the first song I ever sang. I don't remember how old i was. I was still in a car seat but I remember when I sang it, my family was so surprised and proud and happy. I was a very quiet, shy child so i guess me singing in public was a big deal. It's become a classic family story.

      Macarena by Los Del Rio

Who doesn't remember the macarena? I was probably six or seven when it became really popular. It reminds me of elementary school. During recess one of our P.E. instructors would offer dance classes on the black top. We called her "ms. Ducky' because she had a duck whiste...anyways, she would teach us the macarena. I still remember it perfectly. I'm pretty embarassed about it. Did grown people actually do the dance...in public?
