    • It's not that I was spoiled, it's that there weren't any siblings with which to share the loot from the parents!

In all seriousness though, I think that being an only child makes a person more prepared to deal with the inevitable loneliness that we all must face at some point in our lives. The down side, of course, is that I am too good at being alone -- I would rather expend the smaller amount of effort required to build a household for me and my two cats than have to put up with the challenge of incorporating another person into my life. Pretty sad, isn't it.

I disagree. You are coming from a place of "Choice" when it comes to a relationship, which is much much better than coming from a place of "Aching Need".
But I forbid you to acquire any more cats. Through time, allow yourself to get back down to only one cat, then sleep with whatever man that cat happens to drag home to you! Cheers!

Well, my two cats & I are a nice little family unit, so I don't foresee needing to adopt any more felines. :)
